Description
The Kollter DS1Pro is not your ordinary electric dirt bike – it’s a game-changer in the world of off-road riding. Here’s the lowdown on what makes it so special:
Gear Up for Innovation: Unlike most electric dirt bikes, the Kollter DS1 dirt bikes follow a concept borrowed from traditional ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) enduro bikes. It sports a gearbox with four gears and a clutch. Now, that might sound a bit old-school, but bear with us. This concept is a stroke of genius because electric dirt bikes are not all that different from their gas-powered counterparts when it comes to mechanics. Kollter’s Solution: The DS1Pro boasts a 5KWH battery and a high-speed 20KW motor paired with that nifty four-gear manual gearbox. This combination delivers a whopping 950NM of torque, averaging out to about 50NM of torque per kilowatt. In comparison, gearless motors can only muster 15-20NM per kilowatt, demanding a bigger battery to achieve similar torque without the torque conversion trick. The Power to Turn: With 1000NM of torque at the rear wheel, the DS1Pro lets you do some things you could do with 1500cc motorbikes. You can practically steer the bike with that much torque or spin it a full 360 degrees on the spot. And remember, while the DS1Pro has four gears, you don’t necessarily need to start in first gear since the torque in the second and third gears is pretty similar.
